Stress Hormone linked to Diabetes Management

Participants with type 2 diabetes show abnormal “flat” cortisol profiles throughout the day, compared to non-diabetics who have a spike of cortisol in the morning and decrease in levels at the end of the day. This link may pave the way for new drugs aimed at treating pre-diabetics and diabetics and emphasized the importance of cortisol-lowering activity.
