HOW TO HIDE BELLY FAT – Instant Cover-up Ideas

BUSY LIFE STYLES??

**THIS WILL BE PERFECT FOR YOU!

Many of us are so busy that we don’t have time to get to the gym or eat that perfect good for us breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  There are several instant cover-up ideas in this post that will help you hide belly fat in the way you dress.  These ideas will consist of blouses, blue jeans & shorts, dresses and swimwear that slims you down in a way that it will even fool you! If that’s still not enough to boost your confidence, there’s information about shapewear undergarments as being another alternative!

BLOUSES

**IT’S ALL ABOUT THE RIGHT FIT!

Many women over 40 are facing the excessive weight around the mid-section of the tummy whether it be belly fat, back fat, big hips, muffin tops or love handles.  Fortunately they have designed a fashionable wardrobe for women to choose from that hide those areas you don’t want seen.

You shouldn’t wear tight clothing, especially tops that hug the body.  They make all those problem areas standout.  You should wear soft free-flowing material that’s not too clingy such as cotton.

The layered look is very stylish and can be worn summer, winter, spring, or fall.  Long sleeveless vests or cardigans worn over semi-loose fitting tops also work well together and are great as instant cover-ups!

Empire and pleated tops are very nice choices to hide the tummy, hips, and muffin top waist.  Banded tops at the hemline are another option that magically conceals those areas we worry about.  Shirts that have a wrap around the middle also works very nicely and a good rule to remember, never tuck your shirts in unless you’re going for the half-tucked look, which by the way, is very cute.

Shop at Pinterest like I do and you will find all of these fashionable options at affordable prices.

JEANS

**YOU’LL BE AMAZED AT THE DIFFERENCE!

Mid-rise jeans are your best friend!  They should be your number 1 choice if you are trying to hide the excess weight in your mid-section; belly fat or muffin tops.  Mid-rise jeans sit about 1 1/2 inch below the belly button, just  high enough to go over the muffin top or if you’d rather call it the love handles.  The extra height in the jeans keep that area from bulging over the top of your jeans.  These generally have a little stretch for added comfort.  I buy Levi Stratus from Walmart for about $20 and absolutely love them!  Of course if you like to shop the malls, you can buy yours for over $100!

Another jean you can try is straight leg skinny jeans.  Skinny jeans are stretchy and forgiven making them a very comfortable fit.  Also, they can make you appear taller and slimmer by lengthening your lower body.  These can be found at Walmart for about $20 bucks as well.

Wearing darker or two-toned jeans can also have a slimming effect.  Another important rule is, “It’s okay to have embroidery art or dazzled with jewels as long as its down the legs, and not around or near the top pockets or waist area”.  This causes on-lookers to look more away from your upper body.

When choosing pants try to stick to less pockets and no belt loops.  Always try to get by without wearing a belt because that only brings attention to your mid-section.  Longer pants, almost touching the floor will have a slimming effect too!

When shopping for that perfect pair of jeans or pants try to look for them without three-dimensional side seams.  This will help keep the sides in more with less bulk.

Lastly, I would recommend the skinny-tummy control jean leggings or “jeggings”, without buttons, zippers, pockets, or belt loops.  You’ll be surprised at how good they will look on you and very comfortable too!

A few tips for shorts

Much the same as blue jeans and pants; buy them high waisted with less dazzle, little if any front pockets (back pockets are okay), or belt loops.  Maybe a good option for you if one of your best qualities are your legs, wear shorter shorts.  It will bring more attention to your legs rather that your mid-section.

High waisted shorts are good for hiding the muffin top and the belly fat.  Many of these styles come in denim or casual like cotton cargo shorts.  Stretchy shorts (with elastic or spandex) is okay too, paired up with a nice pleated blouse.

DRESSES

**LOOK FABULOUS NO MATTER WHAT SIZE OR SHAPE YOU ARE!

A-Line dresses will work beautifully if you have that “apple body” shape.  You want material that is free-flowing (not clingy) and maybe some ruffles, pleats, or even the multi-layer look.

If you choose a skirt that you love but it doesn’t hide your belly or muffin top, just pair it up with a nice peplum top that flares out at the waistline or throw on a blazer or cardigan over a nice blouse.  You could even wear a balloon fitted top with it.  This would hide the tummy and hips very well.  I should know because I own one.

All of these fashionable options can be found at Pinterest, which I highly recommend you visit.

SWIMSUITS

**THERE ARE WAYS TO STILL BE SEXY IN YOUR SWIMSUITS!

Swim-ware is a difficult subject for many of us.  We always try to look sexy and sometimes what our eyes see are not necessarily what other people see.  We know where our problem areas are no doubt, but others don’t.  So when we shop for swimsuits we try to go for that old and sagging look that gives us no shape.  In fact it makes us look “OLDER” and more out of shape than we are.  Try to stick to your normal style changing it up just a little.  People wouldn’t notice the extra weight you’ve gained as much.  If you’ve always been a bikini girl, high-waisted bikini’s and solid colors would help make those areas standout less.  If you are the more conservative type, don’t get carried away at hiding yourself because you hate what your body looks like.  Other’s don’t see it as bad as you do!  Just try disguising it a bit by adding some color like floral prints, vertical strips, skirt like bottoms, or dress like tops.  Just give it a try!  You’ll look sexy as ever and no one will ever see those extra pounds you are so worried about.

I went to Punta Cana last summer in Dominican Republic so worried about the extra weight I had gained, but did not show my worries.  I wore the same bikini’s as I had before from 5 years earlier.  I’m 46 years old now almost 47!  I won a bikini contest that blew my mind!!  I didn’t feel sexy.  I didn’t think I looked good!  But I just went with it and had a blast.  I danced in my bikini on the pool stage against 10 others some of which were in there 20’s.   I knew I would never  see those people again, so why not?  I WON THAT CONTEST!!  Just as you could!  You just need to let yourself go a little and try something on you wouldn’t normally try. I’ll bet you would look great in it!  The pictures above are just ideas.  Wear something that you will feel good in.  In the end, that’s what matters!  The pride you carry in yourself as you walk the beach or cross that pool patio or deck is what makes you SEXY!  So just go with what you feel and stop worrying so much.  I DID IT AND IT FELT GREAT!

I live in North Carolina and I recently graduated in May 2017, from Davidson County Community College with a degree in Network and Cyber Security. I love working on websites and doing research which brings me here. I didn’t know much about fitness and everything involved in it to be fit. I soon realized that being in my 40’s and staying in shape is going to take a lot more work and support. That’s when I decided to build my website around my personal problem areas, with hopes that I will not only get rid of mine, but help others as well.

Excellent! What I do sometimes is buy a dress size bigger… It makes you look slimmer than you actually are as it hides all of the body contours :-). Some useful ideas though and I intend to apply them when I shop next. Thank you
