Zero-calorie and zero-sugar, this sweetener is a surefire way to add some sweetness to your life! It’s also about 300 times sweeter than sugar, so a little goes a looooong way!
Acesulfame potassium, brand names Sunett or Sweet One
This artificial sweetener doesn’t contribute to tooth decay, is zero-calorie, and doesn’t affect blood sugar levels. It’s also heat-stable, so it’s great for baking with! It is also about 200 times sweeter than sugar, so you’ll have to convert your ratios for baking.
Coconut Sugar
This unrefined beauty is packed with minerals, nutrients and vitamins. It doesn’t cause blood sugar fluctuations, but it has about the same calorie count as sugar. Not the best choice for those working on weight loss.
Date Paste
Dates are packed with vitamins, minerals and fiber. To make a paste, add ½ cup water, ½ cup warmed dates and a splash of vanilla extract and blend to a smooth consistency. Sweeter than sugar, date paste is used in smaller quantities than sugar.
